POSITION SUMMARY The Quality Assurance Educator facilitates departmental coding audits to ensure quality completeness and accuracy of coding. Serves as a coding subject matter expert for staff. Develops and implements a coding training program as well as an internal and external audit plan. Develops and coordinates educational training programs to improve productivity and accuracy based on audit findings. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Education Highschool Diploma or GED Associate’s degree in Health Information Technology Minimum Experience 5+ years of experience with extensive knowledge ICD10CM, ICD10, PCS, and CPT-4 Required Registration/License/Certification CCS, RHIT or RHIA Preferred Education BS in Health Information Administration Preferred Experience N/A Preferred Registration/License/Certification Dual certification of RHIA/RHIT and CCS Other Requirements Extensive knowledge ICD10CM, ICD10, PCS, and CPT-4 Maintain an understanding of the NCCI, DRG/APC payment classifications. Must be knowledgeable about Medicare and other governmental regulations Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills required Demonstrated proficiency in PC use, Microsoft applications and working knowledge of 3M and Cerner PIfc715e3bd022-30511-38471007
