Job Description This position is expected to perform at a highly efficient level and be able to work under minimum supervision. The CAD Technician II will utilize Computer-Aided Design software and hardware to provide support for sales designs and projects, update current jobs and projects, and create production in both electronic and hardcopy forms. The technician will produce drawings from project documents, functional markups, conceptual sketches, or verbal descriptions and specifications.Responsibilities as CAD Technician II:Review engineering drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standardsCollaborate with design originators to resolve discrepancies between original drawings and final CAD designsTransform initial rough product designs into working documents using computer-aided design (CAD)Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the jobWork independently within established procedures associated with the specific job functionRequired Skills and Experience:A high school diploma or equivalent certificate is requiredTwo-year associate degree preferred3 to 5 years of CAD experience; knowledge in low-voltage systems pertaining to security and life safety systems is preferredAbility to work in all AutoCAD versions and be able to quickly adapt to new CAD standards and proceduresA strong background in customer service preferredBasic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel, is required.Able to create and maintain accurate drawings and documents in a timely manner and read blueprints, drawing and specificationsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment on multiple assignmentsExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbalStrong team playerMust be able to keep track of time worked on projects and apply time towards each project worked to maintain utilizationCoordinate filing, storage and retrieval of both manual and electronic drawingsSupport and operate associated plotters and printersBENEFITS: Pay: $35.00 - 42.00 an hourMedical, dental, vision, basic life, AD&D, and disability insuranceEnrollment in our company’s 401 (k) or Supplemental Income Plan, subject to eligibility requirementsEight paid holidays annually, five sick days, and four personal daysVacation time offered at an accrual rate of 3.08 hours biweekly.
