Electronics Controls Technician

Job#: 2084382 Job Description: Position Overview:We are seeking an experienced Electronic Controls Technician to support our manufacturing operations. This role focuses on troubleshooting and maintaining PLC systems and supporting mechanical electricians. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment and a strong understanding of industrial automation systems.Key Responsibilities:Troubleshoot Allen Bradley PLCs (Studio 5000) and Siemens DCS systemsSupport mechanical electricians with PLC-related issuesTrack down inputs/outputs and diagnose faults in packaging equipmentAssist in implementing automation upgradesProvide reactive (30–40%) and preventative maintenance supportWork with VFDs, motor compactors, and other high-voltage equipment (480V, 3-phase)Understand and follow safety protocols for high-voltage systemsCollaborate with engineering teams (Plant and Process Engineers)Support networking between multiple PLC platformsPreferred Qualifications:Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing facilityStrong troubleshooting skills with Allen Bradley PLCs (Studio 5000)Experience with Siemens DCS systems is a plusBackground in packaging equipment, especially liquid packaging, is highly desirableFamiliarity with VFDs and drive systemsMechatronics or automation training is a plusCertifications and formal education in electrical or automation fields are beneficialPositive attitude and willingness to learn and support the teamEEO EmployerApex Systems is an equal opportunity employer.
