Human Resources Manager

Job Description: The Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing the College's human resources functions, including benefit inquiries, workers' compensation claims, and employee relations. This role requires a strategic thinker who can align HR initiatives with the college's goals and foster a supportive workplace environment. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with both systems and people. This role requires balancing multiple priorities. Responsibilities Develop, update, and communicate HR policies and procedures in line with best practicesServe as a point of contact for employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefitsEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, as well as the college's internal policiesCoordinates the College's Employee Benefits and Wellness Programs Foster positive employee engagement through effective communication and supportResponsible for annual reporting and tracking systemsMaintain accurate HR records, employee files, and HR databasesMentorship of student work staff Requirements: Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practicesExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsProven ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with discretionProficiency in HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field preferredMinimum of 3 years of experience in human resources management, preferably in an educational institutionSHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred Additional Information: About Berry College Berry is a selective independent college of 2,200 students located adjacent to Rome, GA, midway between Atlanta, GA, and Chattanooga, TN.
