With a team of close to 100 employees based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, we design and manufacture products to be the most user-friendly, safe and practical options on the market for tradespeople and contractors.Join our team, where we strive to offer you a fulfilling work experience where you are challenged and can make a difference every dayRole OverviewPrime Design is currently looking for a Controller to oversee and ensure the integrity and accuracy of all Prime Design financial planning, reporting, and controls. Reporting to the VP Finance of the Work Truck Group (a group of related companies within Clarience Technologies), this position will lead accounting in conformance with generally accepted accounting principles, as well as lend insights and guidance contributing to the achievement of business targets and objectives. Essential skills include excellent communication and organization skills, experience implementing processes and procedures, and being comfortable partnering with a variety of individuals and departments within Prime Design and affiliated companies. The Controller will also manage and coach an on-site accountant who has day-to-day accounting duties and supports month end reporting.Onsite Requirement: Eagan, MNSalary Range: $120,000 - $140,000 USD AnnualMain Responsibilities: As the most senior finance leader at Prime Design, this role’s primary responsibilities include:Direct and coordinate financial reporting and budget management functions.Recommend benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance of Prime Design along with individual departments. Implement related reporting metrics for early warning detection and correction of unfavorable performance occurrences.Lead the monthly financial close process.Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget and prior year.Lead daily operations of the accounting department.Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.Prepare financial forecasts as well as ad-hoc reporting and analysis.Complete special projects and financial analysis for discussions with management concerning product life cycle and/or pricing actions.Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements.Implement department goals, objectives, and operating procedures.Assist the corporate accounting team with audits, as required, and provide recommendations for process improvements.Coordinate, control, reconcile, and report physical inventory results.Other duties as assigned.Requirements:Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree in finance, accounting or economics is a plus.7+ years of relevant experience, management experience a strong asset.Public Accounting experience preferred.CPA license a plus (active status not a concern).Experience in ERP reporting systems (Syteline is a plus).Knowledge of local, state, and federal financial regulations.Knowledge of general ledger accounting, cost accounting, budgeting, and internal control principles in a manufacturing environment, including a working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.Ability to analyze financial data and prepare/present financial reports, statements, and projections.Working knowledge of short-term and long-term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product costing analysis for items with complex bills of material.Experience motivating teams to produce quality results within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage multiple projects.Comfortable to lead group meetings with internal employees, customers or senior leaders.Strong professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.Willingness to work a flexible schedule as needed.We're a background check and pre-hire drug screen company where allowed by law.*Clarience Technologies does not discriminate in hiring or employment on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, marital status, national origin, sexual orientation, age, disability, ancestry veteran status or any other status protected by law.
