As anElectrical Engineer II, you’ll play a pivotal role in maintaining, upgrading, and future-proofing our extensive power infrastructure. From managing small capital projects to leading system improvements, you’ll ensure our operations stay safe, efficient, and reliable.Responsibilities:Be the site’selectrical authority—plan and oversee maintenance, upgrades, and electrical outages (switchgear, breakers, substations).Drivereliability engineering initiatives—analyze failures, implement corrective actions, and optimize system performance.Leadcapital projects—from concept to completion—balancing budgets, compliance, and innovation.Supervise and mentor contractors and technicians, ensuringsafety-first practices(Arc Flash, Lockout/Tagout).ChampionSCADA & smart technology—supporting and upgrading our Energy Data Information System (EDIS) for better monitoring and efficiency.Share your expertise by training plant teams on new electrical technologies and safety standards.Keep usfuture-readywith strategic plans for system expansions, digital upgrades, and reliability improvements.Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.8+ years of hands-on electrical engineering experience in a manufacturing or production environment.Professional Engineering (PE) License in Alabama (preferred).Proven expertise withpower distribution systems(480V–12.47kV), preventive maintenance, and power quality assessments.Strong knowledge ofelectrical safety standards(Arc Flash, Lockout/Tagout).Experience managingbudgets, contractors, and engineering teams.Familiarity with SCADA systems, power meters, and relay programming.Leadership skills with the ability to influence, train, and inspire others.Why Join Us?Ownership & Impact:You’ll lead critical projects and shape the reliability of a large-scale electrical distribution system.Innovation:Work with cutting-edge technologies in SCADA, energy efficiency, and power monitoring.Growth:Opportunities to expand your expertise, mentor teams, and gain leadership exposure.The Evonik Group adopts an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) approach.
