(per HIPPA guidelines)Reports to parents, school personnel, physicians, clinics, and other agencies on student health matters.Assumes authority, in the absence of a physician, for the care of a student or staff member who has suffered an injury or emergency illness.Administers first aid in accordance with established first aid procedures.Implements Board policy on exclusion and readmission of students in connection with infectious and contagious diseases.Participates in in-service training programs and Continuing Nurse Education.Assists school personnel in maintaining sanitary standards in schools.Performs job duties under the supervision of Lead Nurse.Perform responsibilities according to the Nurse Practice Act and Roane County Schools Policy and Procedure Manual.Administers medication and treatments to students as ordered by physicians.Consult with physicians and other healthcare providers as needed.Seek assistance if unfamiliar with ANY procedure.Works collaboratively with other departments, resources and other school nurses.Function as an Educational Assistant/Front Office Assistant when not performing Health Service duties. Report to work location assigned by Supervisor, which may require departure from base school location as needed.Establish and maintain satisfactory, respectful working relationships with the school environment.Perform other duties as assigned by the administrator. Terms of Employment:10 month year
