Position Overview Associate Faculty (PT) : Pursuit Lab Instructor PoolSALARY: $45/hr LOCATION: Lynnwood WashingtonDESCRIPTION:We are on the hunt for a self-motivated and experienced teacher to join our qualified team of educators. As a teacher, you will be responsible for cultivating the students¿ interest in suitable career pathways, strengths discovery and self-advocacy. This class is a bridge for students with disabilities to be equipped to find jobs and/ or to continue education at the post-secondary level. It will consist of training students in workplace readiness skills, work-based learning experiences and administrative duties to help manage the deliverables required for the federal contract that funds this program. Your classroom responsibilities will include engaging students with best practices in instruction, supporting student strength discovery, engaging them with technology and online learning, evaluating students¿ progress, and planning educational activities. You will also be expected to be able to navigate and learn how to use an online educational platform that will aid students in career exploration. You should be a competent professional with in-depth knowledge of teaching best practices and educational processes. In addition to having excellent written and verbal communication skills, our ideal candidate will also demonstrate outstanding presentation and interpersonal abilities. We accept applications for part-time faculty positions on an ongoing basis. If you wish to remain in the part-time pool beyond that time, you can update and resubmit your online application yearly.RESPONSIBILITIES:Develop and issue educational content including notes and assignments.Supervise classes to ensure all students are learning in a safe and productive environment.Organize supplies and resources for lectures and presentations.Deliver personalized instruction to each student by encouraging interactive learning.Plan and implement educational activities and events.Ensure your classroom is clean and orderly (for in person classes).Prepare and distribute periodic progress reports and semester report cards.Attend possible parent-teacher meetings.Evaluate and document students¿ progress.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor¿s degree in teaching or relevant field.A minimum of 2 years experience as a teacher.In-depth knowledge of teaching methods and legal educational procedures.Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.Well-organized with excellent leadership abilities.Engaging and able to manage students with varying disabilities while maintaining a positive and encouraging learning environment. Able to differentiate instruction for differing abilities and allowing students to self-pace as neededExceptional interpersonal and presentation skills.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Dependable Strengths Training from the University of Washington or other similar trainingWorking with student success/career 1-2 yearsWorked with students with disabilities 1-2 yearsPHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT:Work is typically performed in a variety of settings including classrooms, skills labs and off campus sites. Standing or sitting for long periods of time may occur in any of the settings mentioned. The ability to speak clearly and fully comprehend written and spoken English is essential.COMPENSATION:Hourly wage: $45/hour for up to 6-10 hours of instruction a week + $45/hr for curriculum development/support equal to the number of hours of instruction. These will be for 5-10 weeks of the quarter or for the duration of the school year. Those selected will also be offered classes for future quarters.WORK SCHEDULE:6-20 hours per week, Monday ¿ Thursday. Either 1.5-3 hours in the morning and/or 1.5-3 hours in the afternoon to cover class time.
