GBST 301: Constructing Global Identity Position: Lecturer - Academic Year Semester: Spring 2026 Day/Time: One (1) Section: Mondays and Wednesdays, from 2:30 to 3:45 . Modality: In-person College: College of Humanities, Arts, Behavior and Social Sciences Department: Political Science and Global Affairs The Department of Political Science and Global Affairs at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Spring 2026 to teach GBST 301: Constructing Global Identity. Course Description: Addresses the meaning of global citizenship and its relationship to local, national, and ethnic/racial identities considered from a humanities perspective. Issues covered may include cosmopolitanism, humanitarianism, religion, cultural diasporas/migrations, class, gender, human rights, food, sports, and/or the ethics of travel and tourism. Minimum qualifications: A master's degree in Global Studies or related Humanities field. Per the California State University’s Out-of-State Employment Policy, the CSU is prohibited from hiring employees to perform CSU-related work outside California. Working in the State of California is a condition of employment. Preferred qualifications: A doctorate in Global Studies or related Humanities field. Experience teaching in higher education in area of instruction Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusivity, and/or intercultural competence with diverse groups in relation to teaching.
