This is an excellent opportunity for motivated individuals with a background in geology or environmental science who are eager to grow their skills in both field and office settings.Position Description - Staff Geologist/Environmental Scientist - En Tech Business Group/Dept: OperationsFLSA: ExemptReports To: VP of Operations Date: June 3, 2025Purpose of the PositionThis position supports environmental projects by conducting fieldwork to collect data, monitor environmental conditions, and assist with remediation. It also involves office responsibilities such as preparing reports and providing support to the project manager.Essential Position ResponsibilitiesConduct field investigations, including sampling soil, groundwater, surface water, and air in compliance with regulations.Operate, maintain, and calibrate field and remediation equipment, ensuring proper function and supply management.Oversee subcontractors and field activities such as drilling, well installation, tank removal, and site remediation.Document field observations, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.Support site assessments, impact studies, and remediation projects, including in-person receptor surveys and ISCO applications.Manage and organize environmental data, including entry, compilation, evaluation, and quality control.Assist in drafting work plans, technical reports, figures, maps, and other project documentation.Review and apply relevant regulations, guidance, and industry standards to project activities and deliverables.Coordinate with project managers, senior staff, clients, and regulatory agencies to plan and execute project tasks.Prepare cost estimates, status updates, and support project research and administrative tasks as needed.Physical activities: Communicates with clients, employees, and regulatory personnel in person, over the phone, or via email. Exposure to hazards and conditions typical of construction sites. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Steel-toed footwear; hard hat; safety vest; protective eyewear; glovesSafety Sensitive: YesTravel: Up to 30%Licenses/Certifications Required: B.S. in Geology, Environmental Science, or closely related field. Valid driver's license with clean driving record. Preferred Licenses/Certifications: 1 to 3 years of post-graduation experience or related work experience. Must pass a background test and pre-employment drug testing
