Its businesses produce the raw materials that are essential in the manufacture of a wide variety of goods: from paints to plastics, textiles to technology, and medicines to mobile phones - chemicals manufactured by INEOS enhance almost every aspect of modern life.BUSINESS CONTEXT:Ethylene oxide (EO) is an important building block for the preparation of a wide variety of EO derivatives (EODs), including various surfactants, as well as a host of other chemical intermediates including Glycol Ethers, Polyethlene Glycols, Ethanolamines, and Alkyl Alkanolamines. INEOS Oxide is one of the world’s leading producers of Ethylene Oxide (EO) and Ethylene Oxide Derivatives (EODs). We currently have a total EO and EOD capacity of 920 kta spread across five different production units throughout Europe and the US. These units have leading cost economics, due to economies of scale, state-of-the-art technology, strategic locations, etc. Our EO project in the US is targeting the fast-growing merchant EO market, building on our experience and leadership position in Europe.Purpose of the Job:The Turnaround Manager will manage Turnarounds and smaller plant outages form planning through completion. Days will include interfacing with site engineers, operations, engineering firms, procurement, and construction contractors to design, procure, and repair equipment to meet the stated objective from the Turnaround Steering Team.The candidate is responsible for implementing all aspects of the TurnaroundResponsibilities and AccountabilitiesAccountability 1: SHEAdvises on safety expectations for the Turnaround and leads the team to achieve safety goals. Serves as job representative and addresses all safety issues that arise with contractors brought on site for the execution of capital projects to deliver best-in-class HSE performance.Ensures new installations adhere to INEOS Group Guidance Notes.Ensures proper engagement with site SHE representatives and approvals of contractor safety plans.Maintain safety as the highest priority of the plantMaintain the 20 Principles of SafetyAdhere to and uphold all safety policies and standardsAccountability 2: Turnaround ManagementLeads and directs the planning and execution of the turnaround.Oversees the implementation of the TAR processes approved by the steering team (according to the manual) such as target definition, P&ID meetings, scope challenge, scope freeze, risk assessment, change order process, etc.Partners with the steering team and obtains decisions/guidelines if necessaryClearly formulates the project assignment and communicating it to the project teamEnsure appropriate risk management, including risk-based scope assessments, creating and maintaining a TAR risk register and planning and monitoring necessary risk mitigation measuresOversees cost responsibility, equipped with powers such as PO approvalManages coordination, formulation and documentation of TAR targets (KPI)Advises on description and monitoring of milestonesDelivers definition of clear roles and responsibilities in the respective TAR organizationCollaborative responsibility for compliance with security targetsImplementation of the specifications by the steering team in concrete instructions and processesDefining the shutdown-specific organizational chart, ensuring sufficient staffing (resources)Oversees the exchange of information between the groups involvedManages the creation of an overall scheduleDetermines the critical pathManagement of e integrated planning and execution and coordination of all work.Providing an overview of all technical projects with a share in the TAROversight of organization of meetings, reviews, presentationsDefine and initiate contractor managementParticipate in the creation of procurement and contracting strategies and ensure their implementationIntegration of the Purchasing department (coordination of the project-related purchasing strategy)Organize holistic, cross-zone progress monitoringExecute phase: ensure troubleshootingInitiate post TAR activities, such as billing, final documentation and lessons learned, and support and implement them responsibly until completionManage the closeout and documentation of drawings and equipment records upon completion of the Turnaround.Skills/CompetenciesLevel of Education & Experience in generalBS Chemical/Mech/or Electrical Engineering10 years of chemical plant experienceExperience executing >1 Turnarounds as a Turnaround ManagerTechnical SkillsBroad basic technical knowledge in the relevant specialist areas, in particular experience in the process organization of technical servicesKnowledge of the planning and implementation of shutdowns or comparable projects (desirable)Experience in project management, especially in leading project teams (desirable)MS Office (especially Excel), SAP PM, scheduling (e.g. MS Project)Basic knowledge of cost estimating and cost controllingBehavioral SkillsGoal-oriented and assertiveWillingness to take on responsibilityHigh resilienceStrong interpersonal skills as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong influencing skills with those individuals/teams they do not directly superviseProactive leadership, change management and team building skills and experience.Excellent organization skills.Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.Ability to present updates to the project team and management.Safety role modelADA Physical requirements, visual acuity requirements and environmental conditionsOutsideLight Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
