WHAT YOU’LL DO The Prep Cook plays a foundational role in the culinary success of the restaurant by preparing ingredients, components, and set up that enable smooth and efficient service. This position ensures the kitchen is fully stocked, organized, and ready for high-volume execution. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, consistent, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality, food safety, and organization. You’ll Food Preparation & Setup •Wash, chop, portion, and prepare ingredients according to recipe specifications and kitchen standards. • Execute prep lists accurately and efficiently to ensure all stations are fully supplied for service. • Prepare sauces, stocks, marinades, dressings, and other components with proper technique and attention to detail. • Assist Line Cooks and Chefs by completing assigned prep tasks promptly and consistently. • Label, date, and store all food items according to kitchen procedures. Kitchen Organization & Efficiency • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked prep area throughout the shift. • Rotate inventory to ensure freshness and minimize waste following FIFO standards. • Communicate supply shortages or equipment issues to kitchen leadership. • Support all stations by replenishing ingredients, tools, and equipment as needed. Teamwork & Communication • Work closely with Line Cooks, Chefs, Utility, and other team members to ensure smooth kitchen operation. • Communicate clearly with kitchen leadership regarding task completion, supply levels, and production needs. • Assist with basic cooking tasks or plating when requested by Chefs or as service demands require. • Maintain a positive, cooperative, and professional attitude in a fast-paced environment. • Follow all food safety guidelines, hygiene standards, and sanitation procedures in compliance with local health regulations. • Properly clean, sanitize, and store kitchen tools, cutting boards, and equipment. • Maintain accurate knowledge of allergen handling and cross-contamination prevention. • Participate in daily and deep-cleaning tasks to maintain a pristine prep and kitchen environment. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR • 2+ year of experience as a Prep Cook or similar role, ideally in a fine-dining or high-volume kitchen. • Strong knife skills and familiarity with basic culinary techniques. • Ability to follow recipes and production lists accurately and efficiently. • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and consistency. • Strong commitment to cleanliness, professionalism, and teamwork. • Flexible availability, including evenings, early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
