About Mathematics and Computer Science at Oglethorpe University: The successful candidates will join five faculty as a contributing member of the Mathematics faculty. Additionally, our new faculty will have full voices into programmatic decision-making concerning Mathematics, such as curriculum development, promotion of our disciplines across campus, development of new tracks and related majors, and program assessment. Qualifications Minimum qualifications are a Ph.D. or equivalent in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a closely-related field. Candidates with experience or qualifications in Computer Science or Actuarial Science are especially encouraged but all specializations are welcome. Candidates should be comfortable teaching across the spectrum of foundational, intermediate, and advanced undergraduate mathematics courses. In addition to the lower-division and upper-division courses that support the Mathematics programs at Oglethorpe, faculty members teach in the Core program through the regular offering of Mathematics and Human Nature, a required course for all undergraduates. The ability to teach courses in computer or actuarial science is especially welcomed.
