FOR IMMEDIATE HIREJob Title: Yard Associate / Cutter OperatorCompany: A Leading Industrial SupplierLocation: West Jefferson, OhioJob Summary:Our company, a key supplier in the industrial products sector, is seeking a dependable and hardworking Yard Associate / Cutter Operator to join our team. This role involves a combination of outdoor yard duties, material handling, and operating roller cutting machinery to process materials (such as pipes or conduits) to specified lengths. The ideal candidate will be safety-conscious, organized, and capable of working effectively in a fast-paced environment.Key Responsibilities:Safely and efficiently operate roller cutting machinery to cut materials (e.g., metal pipes, conduits) to precise lengths according to work orders and specifications.Perform setup and make adjustments to the roller cutter as needed for different material sizes and cutting requirements.Conduct quality checks on cut materials to ensure they meet dimensional accuracy and quality standards.Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments of materials; verify quantities against shipping documents.Organize and maintain inventory in the yard, ensuring materials are stored safely and are easily accessible.Prepare and stage materials for production or outgoing shipments, including bundling, labeling, and palletizing.Load outgoing shipments onto trucks or trailers, ensuring proper weight distribution and securement.Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and proficiently (training and certification may be provided).Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the yard and work areas.Perform routine light maintenance and cleaning of the roller cutter and other yard equipment.Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, procedures, and environmental regulations.Assist with inventory counts and record-keeping as required.Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding material status, equipment issues, and safety concerns.May perform other general labor duties as assigned.Qualifications:Previous experience in a yard, warehouse, or manufacturing environment is preferred.Experience operating cutting machinery (specifically roller cutters for pipe/conduit is a strong plus).Experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment is highly desirable.Ability to read and interpret work orders, cutting lists, and shipping documents.Proficiency in using measuring tools such as tape measures and calipers.Strong commitment to safety protocols and practices.Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, carrying, and moving heavy materials.Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.Good organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Basic math skills.High school diploma or GED is a plus.Physical Demands:Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift for extended periods.Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50-75 pounds frequently.Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow).Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.Work Environment:This position primarily works outdoors in a yard environment, with some tasks potentially performed in a warehouse or production area.Exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, dust, and fumes is common.Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, steel-toed boots, gloves, and high-visibility clothing is mandatory.To Apply:Interested candidates are invited to submit their resume detailing their relevant experience to PrideStaff,Our Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer.Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $20.00
