Highway Engineer

What you’ll be challenged to do:The successful candidate shall have a minimum of 3 years of progressive design experience in roadway engineering design for highway, interchange, and/or urban roadway design services to public clients. Experience should consist of the development of roadway design plan production work well in a team environment. The candidate will be responsible for day-to-day execution of assigned projects. In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:Development of horizontal and vertical geometry, preparation of plan and profile sheets, typical sections, roadway cross sections, maintenance of traffic plans, coordinating with other disciplinesCalculating quantities and developing construction cost estimatesReview of shop drawingsParticipating in project meetings with clientsCoordination with team members to meet project quality standards and milestone deadlinesRepresenting GFT at industry and professional events. What you will bring to our firm: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering required; Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering preferred.3+ years of roadway engineering required.What we prefer you bring: Knowledge of and experience using MicroStation and Microsoft Office is requiredKnowledge of and experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D, InRoads, GeoPak, and/or ProjectWise is highly desiredMust possess strong verbal and written communication skills along with strong organization and time management skillsAbility to work on multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environmentActively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.Compensation:The salary range for this role is $85,000 - $110,000.
