Test Technician

Job DescriptionAs a Test Technician, you will perform a variety of non-routine tasks to ensure production quality standards are met. Performs set-ups, calibration, testing, tuning and troubleshooting of micro-strip circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assemblies, to ensure unit functions according to specifications.Technicians perform very detailed technician functions associated with back-end manufacturing to produce mission critical products and devices. Attention to detail, excellent hand-eye coordination and excellent hand dexterity is essential to operate tools and equipment to perform functions such as testing, tuning, troubleshooting and repairing millimeter and microwave frequency components. You are responsible for Launching and testing circuits in fixtures to specificationsBiasing FETs (Field Effect Transistor) and/or transistorsTesting and tuning standard catalog amplifiers from 10MHz to 18GHzParticipating in continuous improvement and team building activities. Maintains productive working relationships with all team membersApplying RF fundamentals including but not limited to RF Gain, Gain Flatness, Gain Matching Return Loss P1 dB Compression, phase/phase trackingProficiency in RF theory and principalsTesting for gain, gain flatness, noise figure, VSWR, P1dB, IP3 and phaseCalibration of test equipmentTuning and troubleshootingProficiency in operating test equipment like DC power supplies, RF signal generators, scalar and network analyzersUnderstanding DC theory (Ohm's Law)Following ESD procedures Required Qualifications: High School Diploma3-5 years relevant experienceFamiliar with computers (Microsoft Office Suite)Ability to clearly communicate in written and spoken English Preferred Qualifications: AS degree preferredPreferred experience in tuning RF thin film circuits Full-Time Equivalent Annual Salary Range: $48,100 - $96,200 for a Level III at Oxnard CA USA. The disclosed salary range is a general guideline for Mercury team members employed at the job level at the location listed above and does not include overtime for eligible hourly employees.  This position requires you to have or obtain a government security clearance.
