The Joint, Office of the Secretary of War, Interagency Division provides expert support services to a range of customers spanning across the Department of War (DoW), Federal Civilian, and international markets. JOID provides a diverse portfolio of analytical and programmatic capabilities to help our customers make informed decisions on their most challenging issues.The Acquisition and Technology Analysis Group within JOID specializes in the application of multi-disciplinary analytic skills to support multiple clients within the DoW. These clients include the Office of the Under Secretary of War for Research and Engineering (OUSW(R&E)), Office of the Under Secretary of War for Acquisition and Sustainment (OUSW(A&S)), DARPA, Joint Staff, and USINDOPACOM. SPA provides critical decision support to enabling and executing a strategy of technological superiority and enabling the delivery and sustainment of secure, resilient, and preeminent capabilities to the warfighter quickly and cost effectively. Our team of experienced military, technical, and operations research analysts is skilled in evaluating military problems, identifying the driving factors, devising innovative approaches, collecting applicable data, developing necessary software tools, and performing thorough and timely assessments to inform technology and acquisition governance decisions to ensure . military forces retain military superiority in the future.We have an immediate need for a Software Engineer to provide onsite support out of Alexandria, VA. Responsibilities The Digital Program Management (DPM) initiative at SPA aims to develop a comprehensive analytics platform to support the reporting and insights necessary for day-to-day management of DoW program offices. The Software Engineer specializing in Web Development will be responsible for designing a front-end Web Development Strategy to fulfill DPM’s objectives. Manage the Web Development Strategy by collaborating with the DPM Functional Area Leads, managing schedule, communicating with key stakeholders, documenting tasking, delegating tasking, mentoring junior developers on tasking, and performing code reviews. Execute the Web Development Strategy by developing the necessary software modules, components, API integrations, and reports. Validate the Web Development Strategy by developing test plans, unit tests, and integrations tests to demonstrate suitability as applied to DPM. Qualifications Required:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field5+ years of experience in developing Web applications5+ years of experience with Web scripting languages: HTML, CSS, and JavaScript3+ years of experience with TypeScript and React3+ years of experience with Core and C#Experience working with Git for Source Control ManagementActive Secret clearanceAble to work fully onsite based on client needsDesired:7+ years of experience in developing software applications3+ years of experience mentoring junior developersExperience developing Single-Page ApplicationsExperience designing and developing REST APIsExperience giving presentations to large groupsExperience working in a DevSecOps environment SPA is committed to the principles and practices of equal employment opportunity.
