Duties Description Youth Support Coordinator 2’s mentor and guide youth in residential facilities operated by the Division for Juvenile Justice and Opportunities for Youth (DJJOY). They are responsible for the supervision, evaluation and guidance of youthful offenders, juvenile offenders or at-risk youth referred to OCFS. Orient and train Youth Support Specialist from administrative tasks to program policies and procedures. Supervise and guide Youth Support Specialist directly as they provide daily care and supervision of youth.May represent and carry out the duties and responsibilities of the Youth Facility Director, Youth Facility Assistant Director or Youth Counselor 3 in their absence.May perform additional support tasks such as coordinating educational opportunities, arranging for building maintenance, ordering and requisition supplies, ensuring meals are served to resident and arranging for special events. May perform all the same duties and functions as a Youth Counselor 1.Additional duties will be discussed in detail during the interview. Minimum Qualifications Transfer: One year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in the Youth Support Coordinator 2 or a title eligible for section 70.1 transfer. Provisional: Must be a current OCFS employee and have one year of permanent competitive service as a Youth Counselor 1 or Youth Counselor 1 (Cadet).This position may be designated 55 b/c and is subject to verification of applicant eligibility.
