Job Description The Ye Lab is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Associate to join our team and contribute to an NIH-funded project focused on understanding how glioma hijacks the tumor microenvironment to drive malignant progression. Our research lies at the intersection of glial biology and brain cancer, with a particular emphasis on malignant glioma, the most aggressive form of primary brain tumor. The successful candidate will investigate the role of astrocytes—one of the most abundant and functionally diverse types of glial cells—in glioma progression and their modulation of the tumor microenvironment. The project will employ genetically engineered mouse and human glioma models, along with advanced imaging techniques, single-cell and spatial transcriptomics, and molecular biology approaches. The Postdoctoral Associate is expected to lead research projects from experimental design, data analysis, to presentations in lab meetings, conferences, and seminars, as well as prepare manuscripts for peer-reviewed publications. Additionally, the candidate will contribute to mentoring research technicians and students involved in the project. Required Qualifications - Ph.D. in Biology, Neuroscience, or a related field. PhD must be awarded no more than four years prior to the effective date of appointment with a minimum of one year eligibility remaining.- Experience with in vivo research involving mouse - Proficiency in immunostaining and fluorescence microscopy- Familiarity with basic molecular biology techniques (e.g., cloning, Western blotting)- Experience with mammalian cell culture- Track record of first-author publication(s); preprints are acceptable Preferred Qualifications - Hands-on experience with rodent brain surgery- Experience with primary cell culture- Background in brain cancer, brain injury, or neuroscience research Overtime Status Exempt: Not eligible for overtime Appointment Type Restricted Salary Information Commensurate with experience Hours per week 40+ Review Date 7/21/2025 Additional Information The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.
