In the 2025-2026 school year, the KIPP Jacksonville region will be comprised of four schools educating more than 3,000 students, kindergarten through twelfth grade in the North and West sides of Jacksonville, Florida.KIPP Impact Academy: Kindergarten - 8th grade KIPP VOICE Academy: Kindergarten - 8th grade KIPP Bessie Coleman Academy: Kindergarten - 8th grade KIPP Bold City High School: 9th - 12th gradeIn the current school year, teachers at KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools work the following hours Monday through Friday and may have occasional meetings or special school events outside of these hours. Hours for teachers and students may vary slightly by school.K-8 Staff: 7:30am - 4:30pm, K-8 Students: 8:00am - 3:30pm, Wednesday K-8 student dismissal is at 1:30pm High School Staff: 6:45am - 3:45pm, High School Students: 7:15am - 2:30pm, Wednesday High School student dismissal is at 12:30pm. Every Wednesday is a student early release day, which allows teachers to participate in weekly professional development and content team meetings. *This doesn’t include Wellness Wednesdays when all staff leave at student dismissal. Job DescriptionKIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks a specials teacher (critical thinking) in our K-8 school. The specials teacher would likely instruct classes of students either in 5th-8th.This position is located at KIPP VOICE Academy (813 Golfair Blvd) for an immediate start date. We are seeking a dynamic, relationship-driven educator to teach a specials class focused on building students’ critical thinking, communication, decision-making, and interpersonal skills. This role supports students in developing healthy habits for collaboration, self-management, problem-solving, and navigating challenges—skills that help them thrive in school and beyond.The ideal candidate creates a welcoming, structured classroom where students learn to analyze situations, understand perspectives, reflect on their choices, and work effectively with others.This position will work closely with the electives department. Teachers are responsible for creating a positive classroom environment, implementing curriculum, assessing students, collaborating with their team, building relationships with families, and other duties as assigned. Full teacher responsibilities are ultimately outlined by their school leader. Teachers at KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools (K-8) work from 7:30 to 4:30 Monday through Friday and may have occasional meetings or special school events outside of these hours. Student hours are typically 8:00 -3:30 Every Wednesday is a student early release day (1:30 , which allows teachers to participate in weekly professional development.COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS Our current compensation and benefits structure is very competitive and is commensurate with experience. Our current starting salary for a first-year lead teacher is $50,000Access to individual health benefits (including medical, dental, and vision)***Access to individual short-term and long-term disability insurance***403(b) retirement program with a company match***To support teacher practice and their growth, all lead teachers receive individualized coaching and professional development.*The salary offered in the DocuSign doesn’t include any stipends for which the candidate may be eligible. In our first year of paying out millage stipends, non-certified New-to-KIPP staff received an additional $3700. Certified New-to-KIPP instructional staff received an additional $7,000. Certified staff also received TSIA stipends this year.
