A Kempsville Building Materials (a division of Carter Lumber) Residential Estimator performs material take-offs on residential buildings. Requires accurate knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the building construction industry. A strong belief in the mission and goals of the company and customer service are necessary to this positionRequirements:3-4 years’ experience in residential estimating Ability to read blueprintsWorking knowledge of Professional Estimating SoftwareWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Access and OutlookMon-Fri starting at 7amResponsibilities:Estimating:Performs material take-offs for residential designs from a variety of blueprints in a timely manner.Reviews construction documents and understands material to bid.Reviews and fixes potential inaccuracies in material lists.Field Support:Works directly with the outside sales representatives regarding all aspects of blueprints.Follows up with the status of take-offs and assists outside sales representatives in the selling of projects.Benefits (full-time employees) Health, Dental, Vision (Single and Family Plans) available after 30 days of employment Short and Long-Term Disability Company-paid life insurance and AD&D Optional supplemental life insurance Company-match 401(k) Vacation time and paid holidays Vendor incentives Room for growth; we promote from within Military encouraged to applyIND123
