Summary Neonatal Associate acts as a receptionist and office assistant for the Neonatal ICU and must demonstrate good guest relations with patients, physicians, staff, auxiliary departments, community agencies and the public.The Associate keeps all patient charts current with the most recent forms and demonstrates accurate, timely collating of any patient admissions. The Associate ensures ordering and maintenance of clinical and clerical supplies for the NICU as well as assists with data billing/charges for NICU patients and admissions data input. Job Responsibilities ·Transcribes other data as directed and enters on patient's chart ·Entering of Doctor's orders into the OC System ·Assists with patient data billing and patient charges ·Assist with admissions data input ·Performs necessary typing tasks ·Manages patient and family flow for the NICU ·Obtaining and assembling of charts and medical records ·Ordering and maintaining of clinical and clerical supplies ·Performs other duties as assigned Education, Training, Licensure and Experience Requirements ·High School Diploma or Equivalent ·Knowledge of medical terminology ·Basic computer skills ·Ability to use multi-function phone system and handle several calls at one time ·Good writing, spelling and verbal communication skills ·Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Interpersonal Skills Must be able to speak, write, understand and communicate the English language. Utilizes good telephone skills/etiquette.Able to maintain composure in stressful situations and organization in a chaotic climate.Able to interact with staff, patients, physicians and others, both within and outside the hospital in a positive and courteous manner. Essential Physical Requirements Must be physically able to maintain manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination, stamina, ability to lift, push, pull, bend, stoop, walk, etc. for extended periods of time. Essential Mental Abilities Must have the ability to concentrate on fine details with constant interruptions.The ability to understand and relate messages accurately.The ability to remember multiple tasks given during the course of the day. Essential Sensory Requirements Must be able to communicate effectively with others verbally and in writing.Sees objects closely and far away and hears normal sounds with a variety of background noises. Exposure to Hazards May be exposed to chemicals necessary to perform required tasks. Any hazardous chemicals the employee may be exposed to are listed in the hospital's SDS (Safety Data Sheet) data base and accessed through the hospital's Intranet site (Employee Tools/SDS Access). A copy of the SDS data base can also be found at the hospital switchboard, saved on a disc.  *Salary Range (Ranges based on Full Time Hours): $46,098.98-$69,148.76 The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
