Role OverviewThis important leadership position includes inspecting and testing circuit boards and SMT electronic components within specified safety and quality requirements. Labeling and documentation signoff. Minor rework as necessary.Key ResponsibilitiesInspect, and rework if necessary, printed circuit boards and mounted components for compliance to IPC-610 standardsUse various tools and equipment to test functional specificationsAccurately repairing/removing and replacing SMT components at efficient production speed without damaging sensitive components and boardsSolder components, wires, etc. onto circuit boardsBy soldering, using bare wire, join similar boards togetherJob DescriptionReads work orders, follows production drawings and sample assemblies, or receives verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.Performs online go/no-go testing and inspection, using visual magnifying devices, measuring instruments, and electronic test equipment, to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards.Perform inspection operations under a stereo microscope or other magnifying device for sustained periods.Rework, as necessary, boards and mounted components for compliance with IPC-610 standards.Other Qualifications & ExperienceGood finger dexterity and good eye-hand coordinationMust be able to read and write in the English language and accurately perform basic math problemsSurface Mount Technology (SMT) electronic component assemblyIPC-610 training/certificationHot air rework stationPneumatic solder pasteElectronic testing (DVM)Minimum 2-3 years of experience performing detailed inspection 1-2 years experience in hand placement and soldering in productionUnderstand job packet documentation (routings and Bills of Materials)Basic electronic configuration recognitionESD protection knowledgeAble to lift 25 lbs.Attributes and Success FactorsCritical AttributesReliability - takes responsibility for getting the job doneReliability - to their work schedule consistentlyDemonstrated ability to focus on production activities for 10-hour shiftsCommunication of Quality issues, concerns, ideasEffective verbal communicationHigh attention to detailOrganizedTimely work output to production expectationsPositive outlookMulti-taskingAdditional AttributesCuriosity - proactively seeks informationEnergy - fast-paced, high-initiativeHelps the team by being flexible - duties, work scheduleCommon sense approach to problem-solvingParticipates in company functions/eventsLearning skills - continuous growthCleanliness / good housekeeping habits
