Position Information Job Title Tenure Track Assistant Professor in Special Education (2026 2027) Rank Assistant Professor Salary Range $68,000 -70,000 Tenure Information Tenure Track Job Description The College of Education, Nursing, and Health Professions (ENHP) at the University of Hartford is seeking to fill a tenure-track assistant professor position in Special Education beginning August 2026. Candidates are expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Special Education in face-to-face and online synchronous and asynchronous formats; academic advising and mentoring for undergraduate and graduate students; scholarly productivity in special education or a related field; contributions of service at the university, college, department (e.g., accreditation) levels. Responsibilities The successful applicant will ordinarily teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Special Education, which may change based on departmental needs. There may also be opportunities to teach our innovative general education and interdisciplinary courses. An active scholarly/research/artistic agenda with peer-reviewed publications, presentations, performances, exhibitions, or other accomplishments are expected for successful tenure and promotion. Service to the department, college, and university typically includes advising students, contributing to student recruitment and retention, committee service, participating in departmental and college-wide initiatives, and accreditation.
