Job Description Summary Wentworth Institute of Technology is seeking applicants interested in joining the Wentworth community as an Academic Coordinator for the School of Computing and Data Science. Wentworth’s School of Computing and Data Science comprises faculty in Applied Mathematics as well as Computer Science, Cybersecurity, and Networking. The School offers undergraduate programs in Applied Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Computer Networking, and Cybersecurity, and have recently launched graduate programs in Data Science, Applied Computer Science, and Business Analytics. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager in the school, the Academic Coordinator will serve as a front-line point of contact for the School, managing customer service requests from students, faculty, and staff members within the School and across the University. In addition, the Administrative Coordinator will work with the Dean’s Office team to support School initiatives and collaborate on teams with colleagues from the Registrar’s Office, Success Studio, and Academic Affairs to provide integrated communications and help all areas of the University in student retention. The Administrative Coordinator will also work closely with School faculty to provide resources and support. while collaborating with team members in the School leadership on customer service-oriented projects other activities as necessary. Duties include: Providing front-line support to students and faculty, particularly in busy periods to Add/Drop, Advising and Registration, and Graduation in coordination with the Registrar’s Office and Success Studio. Collaborating with other front-faculty student support colleagues across the university (COOP Advisors, Faculty Advisors, Success Studio staff, Registrar’s Office, International Student Services, Student Affairs) in pursuit of timely answers to student needs. Serving as main point of contact for inquiries and assistance within the School. Maintaining student records and data, as well as academic policies and procedures Leading meetings, process data, and generate reports and schedules Communicating policies and procedures, provide training, plan or participate in School-related events Serving on School and University-level committees and attend meetings related to student success Inclusive Excellence at Wentworth: Wentworth Institute of Technology is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all University programs and activities. Minimum Education Required Bachelor's degree Preferred Education Minimum Work Experience Required 3-5 years Preferred Work Experience Minimum Knowledge Required Working knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures and ability to apply in varied situations. Uses instructions and guidelines to perform the job safety function. Periodic training will be required. Preferred Knowledge Advertised Minimum Qualifications Ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel, or similar programs Strong written and oral communications: communicate information effectively with students, faculty, and other members of the Wentworth community Strong computer skills and able to adapt quickly to new technologies Excellent organizational and time-management skills, ability to switch gears rapidly and handle many interruptions Professional judgement and discretion Advertised Preferred Qualifications Outstanding organizational and administrative skills. Excellent communication skills. IT literate and familiar with day-to-day use of MS Office. An ability to work alongside and in collaboration with others effectively. A high level of tact, discretion and loyalty. An ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines. Flexibility, with the ability to prioritize. A natural desire to present SCDS in the best light at all times. A willingness to go the ‘extra mile’ if necessary. A good sense of humor. Bilingual
