The Health & Safety (H&S) Specialist is a member of the Health, Safety, Environmental team and is responsible for safety-related processes that help drive continuous improvement toward Goal Zero performance.A Day in the Life • Provide safety support to achieve compliance with regulatory requirements• Serve as a resource to the BYO Site by providing knowledge of health and safety standards/programs.• Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following: o Identify and drive improvements to existing safety programs. o Lead and guide continuous improvement in the safety culture. o Lead and/or participate in site health and safety teams.• Develop and update written safety programs such as: o Audit health and safety programs and procedures for field compliance. o Participate in incident investigations. o Develop, coordinate, and deliver related training. o Support the site OSHA Voluntary Protection Program (VPP). o Provide mentoring and direction to site employees and contractors. o Participate in internal and outside safety related organizations as requested. o Implement cost effective and innovative safety solutions. o Participate in safety support for outages and turnarounds.You Bring This Value • High School Diploma or equivalent.• Minimum 7 years of experience in a refining or petrochemical manufacturing environment. OR an Associate’s Degree (or higher) and 4 years of relevant refining or petrochemical manufacturing experience. • Previous experience with supporting safety work processes in a manufacturing environment.• Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. o Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.  o A demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and prioritize the goals of the team ahead of self-interests.  Preferred Qualifications • Direct experience working in safety role in developing, improving, and implementing safety practices and programs. • Knowledge or experience with OSHA Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) Elements• Experience working in a polypropylene manufacturing site environment What We Offer Competencies Build PartnershipsDrive InnovationGrow CapabilitiesPromote InclusionMotivational FitTechnical SkillsDeliver Results Stay Connected Visit our LYB  Like us on  Regulatory Disclosure The compensation and reference to benefits for this role is listed on this posting in compliance with applicable law. The selected candidate’s compensation will be determined based on their skills, experience, and qualifications.
