Childcare Cook

Position SummaryThe cook will perform cooking duties and lead food preparation for children within the childcare setting including planning, ordering, shopping, and preparing meals for children. The cook should meet all requirements forhealth and safety.Major Responsibilities and TasksMenu Planning and Food PreparationPrepares and cooks nutritious meals that are culturally appropriate for children for children 0-12 years of standard kitchen meals and snacks on time that fits the center’s alternative foods/beverages for children with allergies or special diets according to company all menu changes according to company policy.Food and Supplies PurchasingInventories and maintains proper amounts of supplies for assigned with administration for the purchasing of food and supplies through approved orders to ensure proper quantity and record of all packing slips, receipts, and order forms.Food EducationProvides support to the faculty regarding food and cooking experiences for children on the importance of nutrition and good practices while preparing and eating food.Nutrition and SanitationEnsures food is properly stored and food preparation areas are kept hygiene and safety of the kitchen through daily cleaning and maintaining kitchen in the cleaning of the kitchen and assuring that sanitation and safety standards are met.Other ResponsibilitiesActs as an aide/floater to help maintain ratios in certain other duties assigned by center administration.Basic QualificationsHigh school diplomaPreferred QualificationsServSafe CertificationPrior cooking experiencePhysical RequirementsAbility to lift 25-35 lbs.Ability to walk, kneel, sit, and stand for long periodsBenefits:Health insuranceDental insuranceVision insuranceEmployee discount on child’s tuition401(k) with up to 5% matchingPaid time offProfessional developmentWE PAY FOR YOUR EDUCATIONCWCC has 2 options for you to grow your career in Early Childhood 100% covered by us Both options are self-paced and onlineOption 1: CDA (Child Development Associate)Option 2: Associate's degree in E.C.E.Join a team that invests in your future while making a difference in the lives of children.
