This specialized nursing role combines clinical expertise with a focus on patient safety to provide high-quality care and support to pregnant women and their families, adhering to departmental, institutional, regional and Federal clinical and ethical standards. The perinatal safety nurse will participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance perinatal care processes and outcomes, contributing to a culture of safety within the healthcare facility.Ensures all care providers on Maternal Child Health adhere to national clinical standards and principles andpractice of safety.Serves as a patient safety advocate and clinical role model in perinatal nursing obstetrics:Implements and supports patient safety and quality of care initiatives:Monitors clinical outcomesFacilitates interdisciplinary communication and educationSCHEDULE: Days and may require some evenings and weekend. In our 10-bed unit, we serve several counties in Southwest Kansas, catering to a diverse population of farming and industrial communities. If you're passionate about providing compassionate care to mothers and infants, you'll find a home with us.The OB Post-Partum department at St. Catherine Hospital consists of 12 LDRP, one triage, one OR suite, four pediatric rooms and seven open bay NICU Level II rooms. This consists of three different units: L&D, pediatrics and NICU. We treat pregnant women, pediatric patients from two to 17 days, 32 weeks gestational to 40 weeks for NICU. This department is desirable as it is a rural, main hub, where caregivers get to see and do almost anything. We are very hands-on when taking care of patients. Candidates are welcome who are flexible and passionate about patient care. Candidates must be willing to help in other departments depending on our census.
