Position: Speech Therapist Position at Sun Harbor Healthcare in Port Charlotte (PRN) Location: Port Charlotte, Florida Salary: $54-$57 per hour Sun Harbor Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Speech Therapist to join our team. As a Speech Therapist at our facility, you will play a crucial role in organizing and conducting speech/language programs aimed at assisting our residents with rehabilitation. Your primary focus will be on restoring, reinforcing, and enhancing essential communication and swallowing skills. Responsibilities: Coordinate the acquisition of adaptive communication devices and provide instruction on their usage to residents. Select appropriate activities tailored to each resident's physical and mental capacity, intelligence level, and interests. Collaborate with other members of the rehabilitation team to determine the most suitable therapeutic regimen for each resident. Instruct residents in the necessary skills and techniques for participating in activities, and regularly evaluate their progress, attitudes, and behavior related to rehabilitative potential. Adapt programs to meet the individual needs of residents. Attend and actively contribute to resident care, staffing, and other relevant meetings. Conduct training programs and participate in training medical, nursing, and other personnel in speech therapy techniques and objectives. Supervise supportive personnel in accordance with state and professional standards. Ensure that residents and their families receive the highest quality of service in a compassionate atmosphere that respects their needs and rights. Requirements: Graduation from an accredited Speech-Language curriculum certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA Certified SLP). Licensed or eligible for licensure as required in Florida. Eligible for a Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
