And we do it all with heart, each and every day.Position SummaryJoin Fortune 7 CVS Health as a Senior Manager API Development within the Aetna Enterprise Integrations (AEI) organization. In this role, you will be a critical technical leader who is responsible for leading teams in delivering APIs, micro services and middleware-based applications. You will be a deep technical thinker with experience driving transformational changes, delivering innovative solutions, and achieving efficient and effective delivery. The Senior Manager API Development will also possess extensive API engineering and multi API platform experience. The right candidate will lead teams in end-to-end API delivery, operationalizing new technologies and practices, strengthening automation and DevOps, and drive stability. The Senior Manager API Development will demonstrate passion for technology through achievements and have spearheaded large transformation programs in the past. In addition to deep technical skills, you will have led teams in delivery that include Software Engineers, QA automation engineers, Product Managers and Business Analysts. The Senior Manager API Development leadership will enable the team to achieve ambitious goals with demonstrable value. You will guide, mentor, and foster the team’s development through positivity, collaboration, and CVS Heart-at-Work Behaviors. Ideal candidate can work from any of the CVS office locations in CT, IL, TX, NJ hybrid or remote model ResponsibilitiesTechnical Leader in integration practices and end-to-end delivery using various API platforms such as IBM APIC, Kong, Boomi, Mulesoft etcLead day to day API development and the Aetna Enterprise API platforms end-to-end, from strategy through execution. The role involves both delivery and operational management of multiple Enterprise API PlatformsMentor engineering team to strengthen engineering expertise, contribute to a positive and supportive culture, encourage innovation, and to drive continuous improvementsProactively identify and mitigate risks in conjunction with peers and other leaders within the organization including infrastructure teamsGuides work prioritization in alignment with strategic objectivesMonitor and optimize performance, identifying opportunities for enhancement and addressing any issues or bottlenecksBuilds relationships with partners, vendors, teams, and customersStay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in middleware and integration technologies to drive innovation and efficiencyEvaluate, select, and manage relationships with external vendors, contractors, and technology partners to ensure efficient delivery of engineering solutions and servicesCollaborate closely with other IT teams, business units and stakeholders to understand their needs and provide effective solutionsCommunication ability to report on progress, challenges, and opportunities to senior management and stakeholders, including presenting technical concepts to non-technical audiencesRequired Qualifications7+ years experience in software engineering end-to-end delivery6+ years experience with various Integration Technologies, Microservices and Middleware development3+ years experience in API platforms such as IBM APIC, Kong, Apigee, Boomi, Mulesoft, etc Preferred QualificationsStrong experience in API Platforms and full cycle API development along with necessary security implementationsStrong understanding of cloud-based technologies (Azure, GCP), engineering frameworks and toolsHealth insurance industry experience with deep understanding of health care value chainExperience delivering in Agile, SAFE, Kanban, and Lean practicesEducationBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (Highschool diploma plus 4 years relevant work experience)Pay RangeThe typical pay range for this role is:$130,295.00 - $260,590.00This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
