Job Description Summary The budgeted salary for this position is typically $1,000 per credit hour. This position is ineligible for health, dental, and life insurance benefits through Chicago State University. Chicago State University (CSU), is the oldest public university in the Chicago metropolitan area. Chicago State University is Illinois’ only four-year U.S. Department of Education-designated Predominantly Black Institution (PBI). The Political Science Program invites applications for a part-time, non-tenure track lecturer for undergraduate courses in political science. Primary duties include teaching 1 or 2 political science classes during the 4.5 month semester. Specific areas for which a lecturer is needed are American Politics, Comparative Politics, Public Policy, and US Foreign Policy.Faculty are hired, evaluated, and retained on the basis of conditions covered in the Union Contract. Required Education A Master’s degree in political science or related field required Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Faculty members are expected to teach, develop syllabi and teaching materials related to courses taught, and hold regular office hours. Preferred Qualifications Doctorate preferred.Degree must be from an accredited institution.
