Ability to complete painting projects at facility; including surface preparation, trim work, and cleanup. Perform routine plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and repair work. Ability to safely operate various lawn, hand, and power tools, including snow blowers, drills, saws, planers, sewer snakes, etc. Carry out scheduled service as directed in preventative maintenance program. Perform safety surveillance to monitor potentially unsafe work areas, equipment, and practices. Report hazardous equipment and conditions to Administrator. Conduct daily tour of facility to check maintenance request books on each nurses’ station and in kitchen, and perform needed repairs. Ability to work independently on long-term projects. Maintain confidentiality of resident records and respect resident rights when performing maintenance work. Be on call in case of emergency.   Qualifications for the Director of Maintenance: High school diploma or equivalent. Previous work experience in a health care setting.
