Position Title: Data Center Design EngineerLocation: Atlanta, GAAbout the RoleJoin the world’s leading data center experts and design solutions for some of the most innovative customers on the planet. As a Data Center Design Engineer, you will create detailed engineering packages addressing space, power, cooling, and connectivity requirements during the pre-sales and post sales process. You will act as a subject matter expert for assigned campuses or buildings, ensuring technical accuracy, consistency, and seamless transitions from sales to implementation.This role combines technical design expertise and collaboration with Solutions Engineers, Portfolio Management and Operations teams to deliver optimized solutions that align with customer needs and company standards.What You’ll DoPartner with Solutions Engineers to understand customer business and technical needs.Design and deliver optimized whitespace, power, cooling, and connectivity solutions.Create engineering packages: drawings, floor plans, and technical documentation from Design Engineering Guidelines.Manage portfolio inventory in company inventory management tools and AutoCAD. Conduct site surveys, due diligence, and indicative CFD analyses.Supporting RFPs and technical due diligence in collaboration with Solutions Engineers.Collaborate with sales, portfolio, and operations teams during all stages of the sales cycle.Act as the local Subject Matter Expert for assigned campuses: whitespace design, inventory, connectivity, pathways and capacity management.What You’ll NeedEducation & Experience:3–5 years in a design environment (data centers, telecom, networking).Preferred bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. Technical Expertise:Proven design skills in high-density data centers (power, cooling, space optimization, airflow).Strong understanding of Data Center power distribution and UPS system standards.Strong understanding of network cabling architecture, fiber optics, and connectivity solutions.Proficiency with AutoCAD. Proficiency in CFD modeling preferred.Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.Soft Skills:Excellent internal and customer-facing communication and presentation skills. Ability to translate complex technical requirements into clear, actionable solutions.Strong project management, critical thinking, and documentation skills.Adaptability to fast-paced, ever changing global environments.Commitment to customer service and cross-functional collaboration.
