The use of structured quality improvement tools is required. The Senior Quality Engineer will design new processes and re-engineer existing processes to produce outcomes that meet safety, quality, and business expectations. Process flow diagrams and cycle-time analysis will be required for process improvement projects to substantiate ROIC. Examples of process improvement projects include inventory accuracy, production throughput, and plant flow.Plant 3rd shift hours: 8:30 pm - 5:00 am EST. Please note: These reflect general core hours, start and end times will vary based on overtime needs.YOUR IMPACTLead quality engineering for production operations.The quality technicians will report to this position. Provide direction to quality technicians and prioritize projects.Develop quality checklists and related documentation as required.Collaborate with design engineering, production and quality leadership to resolve build issues.Lead RCCA/8D efforts for build issues.Represent the quality function at daily production reviews.Support housekeeping and safety.Facilitate and train employee teams in process improvement techniquesAssist in the identification and implementation of six-sigma projectsApply the following basic process improvement tools within the six sigma DMAIC improvement model: Project Charter, Process Map, Thought Process Map, Pareto Chart, Trend Chart, Fishbone Diagram, 5-Why Analysis, Histogram, SPC, FMEA, Benchmarking, Brainstorming, 5S, Correlation Analysis, Error-proofing, Cpk, Ppk, Corrective Action Matrix, and Continual Improvement Control PlansDesign and improve process inputs to gain desired outcomeImprove processes to reduce common cause variability and eliminate special causeEstablish control plans to prevent process backslidingPerform process capability studies internally and externallyAnalyze process constraints and develop standards to overcome constraintsAbility to effectively manage large process improvement projectsRevise procedures for process improvementImplement effective corrective and preventative actions utilizing structured planning methodsCoordinate and work cross-functionally with Employee Teams, Quality, Engineering, Contracts, Sales, and Manufacturing to improve processesMust proactively plan and execute plans in accordance with established time constraintsAccurately maintain company records and documents in accordance with policies and proceduresMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in Quality, Business, Operations Management, or related fieldThree plus years of related work experienceSTANDOUT QUALIFICATIONSAdvanced training/experience in the use of statistical techniques and process improvement methodsMust interpret basic technical drawings including characteristics such as views, title blocks, dimensioning, GD&T symbols, etc.Must have experience with and be able to exhibit the use of structured problem-solving techniques utilizing computer applicationsMS Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, Visio, Statistical software, and JDE experience is recommended#LI-MC1*OSK1917Pay Range:$73,200.00 - $117,800.00The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations.
