As a Psychiatric Technician, you will work closely with licensed nursing personnel or their designee, ensuring that patients receive the highest level of care and support. Your responsibilities will include maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients in crisis, as well as providing invaluable assistance to our Nursing and Clinical Treatment teams. Additionally, there may be opportunities for you to perform delegated nursing tasks under the supervision of a licensed nurse personnel. If you are dedicated, compassionate, and ready to make a difference in the lives of others, we encourage you to apply for this rewarding position at The Harris Center Your Role in Action:Creating a physically and emotionally safe environment by conducting regular rounds and patient and property searches, allowing patients to focus on managing their illnesses and disabilities for healing.Assisting with basic patient care, observing progress, and identifying the need for additional services or treatment changes.Providing immediate behavioral emergency assistance, including patient restraint and recognizing/reporting homicidal or suicidal behaviors.Monitoring and documenting behavior of patients in seclusion or on precautions.Performing delegated duties such as vital signs and specimen collection.Utilizing Standard Precautions to prevent the spread of infection. What qualifications you will need:High School Diploma or General Education Diploma.Must have a valid driver’s license.Understanding of Standard Precautions and Infection Control Procedures.The ability to apply Handle with Care Crisis Intervention Techniques (HWC III); this training is provided upon hire.Ability to coordinate patient care with treatment team. By being present during these times, you play a vital role in ensuring continuity of care and maintaining a safe environment for our patients. Additionally, this schedule allows for potential flexibility in managing personal commitments and offers the possibility of extended time off during weekdays.
