Beacon Health System in Kalamazoo, Michigan, is looking for an experienced Interventional Radiology Technologist — or a Registered Radiologic Technologist eager to train in IR Beacon Health System in Kalamazoo, MI is seeking a skilled and compassionate Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will work alongside radiologists and a multidisciplinary team to perform minimally invasive, image-guided procedures that are critical to patient diagnosis and treatment. The ideal candidate is a dedicated professional with a strong technical background, a commitment to patient safety, and a desire to contribute to a collaborative, high-performance healthcare environment. Key Responsibilities: Perform specialized imaging procedures, such as fluoroscopy, CT, and ultrasound, to guide physicians during diagnostic and interventional procedures. Prepare and position patients, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the procedure. Assist the radiologist by scrubbing in for sterile procedures and maintaining a sterile field. Administer contrast media and other medications under the direction of a physician, and monitor patients for any adverse reactions. Follow strict radiation safety protocols to ensure the well-being of patients and staff. Document all procedural details, patient information, and vital signs accurately in the electronic medical record. Evaluate patient charts and history, lab values, and prior imaging to prepare for procedures and communicate any pertinent information to the team. Manage and maintain the IR lab, including equipment readiness, inventory, and restocking of supplies. Qualifications: Associate's or Technical degree from an accredited Radiologic Technologist program or a High School Diploma with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in Radiography (R) is required. Additional certification in Vascular-Interventional Radiography (VI) or Cardiac-Interventional Radiography (CI) is preferred. BLS (Basic Life Support) Provider certification is required within 30 days of hire. Strong understanding of anatomical structures, medical terminology, and radiation safety principles. Excellent technical skills and proficiency with imaging equipment. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on teamwork and patient care.
