OverviewThe Oaks Golf Course is located in Cottage Grove, WI located just outside of Madison. The facility is public but offers memberships and boasts full event and league schedules throughout the season. Golf Digest has awarded The Oaks 4.5 stars as well as making The Oaks one of “America’s Best New Courses” in 2004.The Assistant Golf Professional will assist in running all aspects of the golf operation and will play a vital role in the success of the overall operation. This is a year-round position.  During the off season, The Oaks offers three indoor TrackMan simulators.Experience RequiredPrior golf shop/outside service experience preferred. Level 1 PGA Associate preferred. We are looking for someone who is interested in a career in the golf industry.Essential ResponsibilitiesAssist in managing facility tournament operations including weekly events, member events, leagues and golf events Aids in the coordination/execution of promotional dates during the season with approval of the Director of Golf Assist in teaching Junior Golf Program with the Director of Instruction and Director of Golf =as needed or requested Assist in Player Development programs using PGA tools and resources Provide club repair and club fitting services to customers Aids in the selection, scheduling, supervision, training and evaluation of employees in golf shop and outside operations. Assist with management of outside service staff to ensure the highest quality of customer service is achieved Assist in managing golf car operations and the practice facility Responsible for cleanliness and proper rotation of the golf cars Assist with golfer check-in and fee collection; control and manage play Assist with all opening and closing procedures of the golf shop Assist in the inventory control of hard goods, soft goods, and special orders including: ordering procedures, receiving procedures, inputting into point of sale, pricing procedures, display, and sales Assist with the administration of applicable staff via recordkeeping, work schedules, etc. in accordance with facility policies Assist in coordinating golf activities with other departments Maintain an attractive, orderly and appealing appearance in golf shop. Receives and resolves complaints from guests and personnel Serves as an Oaks representative within the community. Conduct oneself in a professional manner and maintain a professional image at all times With all other employees; is responsible for the cleanliness of all common areas. Enforces and follows the employee handbook.
