Job Description
The Dr. Charles P. Darby Jr. Department of Pediatrics at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is seeking a Pediatric Endocrinologist at the Associate Professor or Professor level to serve as the Division Chief to the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology. Currently the Division includes five faculty members, one advanced practice provider and many other support staff including social workers and dieticians.
The MUSC Pediatric Endocrinology program is recognized throughout the community for its expertise. It provides consultation for clinics at MUSC Health in downtown Charleston as well as MUSC Health outreach clinics. Faculty have access to collaborations with bench researchers in the Darby Children's Research Institute located on campus, one block from the children's hospital.

Qualified for Associate or Professor rank in Pediatrics Board Certified by the ABP Commitment to MUSC's educational missions Eligible for licensure in South Carolina Record of achievement in individual research or scholarship Demonstrated success in developing clinical, research, or educational programs in an academic health center Record of mentoring trainees and/or junior faculty Budgetary experience leading a clinical, research, or educational entity that would translate well to supervising a large divisionMUSC Offerings:

(Continuous) Ability to see and recognize objects at a distance. (Continuous) Ability to match or discriminate between colors. (Continuous) Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception. (Continuous) Good peripheral vision capabilities. (Continuous) Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction. (Continuous) Ability to hear and understand whispered conversations at a distance of 3 feet. Must be able to maintain bi-lateral hand movement skills. (Continuous) Ability to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements. (Continuous) Ability to be qualified physically (by medical personnel) for respirator use, initially and annually. Additional New Requirements: Ability to maintain a valid drivers license. Computer literacy. Ability to work rotating shifts. Ability to work overtime as required. Ability to learn and use new processes, tools and equipment as required.
