This role ensures that vehicle preparation is conducted safely and effectively, and that customers and stakeholders are appropriately engaged. This includes, but is not limited to, any programming, set up, preparation, instrumentation, operation, routine diagnostics, fabrication, and maintenance of various vehicle platforms to support requests from a variety of internal customers.What you’ll be doing:To deliver Operational ExcellenceEnsuring that both Test Execution and Data Quality is assured through adherence to test standards and processes such as (Safety, Regulatory, Operational, Maintenance) and by understanding what is test-critical in advance. Flexibility from both testing and preparation of vehicle systemsEnsuring Timely Delivery of Data/Results through adherence to test scheduling and work request details. Executing planned work to meet customer and test deadlines. Ensuring Resource Usage and Test Costs are understood/managed through open communication with supervisor/manager, proper allocation of work hours and OT management.Self-development/Role Modelling – via coaching and mentoring, develop Safety Mindset, Quality Compliance, Schedule Adherence, Problem Solving, Toyota Way, Process Ownership, and Fiscal Responsibility and demonstrate these in daily work.To deliver New Product IntroductionContinually improve existing processes (Kaizen) and support new process/capability development through activities such as Job Safety Analysis, regular post-project reflection, standardized process development (JKK), problem solving (TBP), and team member development activities (QCC).To deliver Customer IntimacyEnsure transparent and timely communications to all Internal Customers (incl TM’s, shift leaders and PT Management), and External Customers (PT Engineering Depts)Regular reporting of daily/weekly activities, issues impacting test schedule, test cell utilization, and safety observations (incl. incident reporting, potential hazards, and safety recognition)What you will bring Associate degree in an automotive-related discipline, trade school certification, or a minimum of 3 years of equivalent work experience in a related field; previous Toyota internship experience will be also considered.Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience in vehicle or vehicle component testing, repair, and diagnostics.Strong understanding of key vehicle control systems including Electrical (12v and High Voltage) OBD, EFI, and emissions controls and CAN bus communication.Demonstrated a strong commitment to safety and a collaborative work approach.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Entry level proficiency with MS Tools (Excel, Power Point, Word).Willingness to work an average of 5 hours of overtime per week and travel up to 10%, including domestic and international.Proficiency in reading, understanding, and interpreting blueprints and other technical data.Proficient in using precision measuring tools such as torque wrenches, calipers, and dial indicators.Proven skill to Interpret instrumentation and system data; prepare inspection reports, analyze, and publish data.Ability to measure part dimensions such as length, height, and distance between reference points to ensure parts meet specifications before installation of any prototype vehicle parts.Ability to perform routine cleaning and maintenance of all vehicles and machine shop equipment.Must have the ability to work any shift.Must be able to lift, push , pull , and lift up to 35 pounds.Added bonus if you haveProfessional automotive repair experience (e.g. Dealer.). ASE-certified in Engine Performance, Brakes, and Suspension systems.Automotive Testing experience Chassis and Engine Dynamometer.Technical report writing and testing documentation skills, including being able to create graphs from recorded data.Advanced fabrication experience with machine shop lathe, mill, and TIG/MIG welding.Prior knowledge of Toyota tools for S/W and data acquisition (Panel 4, TS Writer, GTS+).Battery electric vehicle/ Fuel cell electric vehicle experience.Proven ability to diagnose and repair various vehicle and powertrain components along with reporting out all findings.Prior experience with evaluating product issues with problem solving skills to resolve them with recurrence prevention in mind.Perform daily 5S, Kaizen, Maintenance of related testing equipment, and Quality Circle activities while supporting the Toyota Safety Management System.Having created and reviewed Standard Work Procedures with related Job Instruction Sheets.Ensured inspection activities are carried out throughout each process adhering to a quality plan.Use of a parts systems including Microsoft Power Apps to track all parts incoming/outgoing.What we’ll bringDuring your interview process, our team will provide you with all the details of our industry-leading benefits and career development opportunities.
