Position Summary The I-BEST Instructor will co-teach part-time in one of our I-BEST (Integrated Basic Education and Skills Training) programs. In partnership with professional-technical faculty, I-BEST instructors use a co-teaching model to develop and deliver curriculum to not only build students¿ basic and academic skills but to promote their success in their chosen program and beyond.The I-BEST Instructor will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality instruction to students enrolled in our I-BEST programs, including Automotive Technology, Aviation Maintenance Technology, Culinary and Pastry Arts, Landscape Horticulture, and Welding Fabrication Technology. This position requires a commitment to student-centered learning, cultural responsiveness, and collaboration with content area faculty.Candidates should be willing to teach in a variety of formats such as in-class, hybrid, online and varied class times including days, evenings, and/or weekends according to program needs.Successful applicants will have the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, staff, and others in a campus climate that promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion. This position is instrumental in supporting students in achieving their academic and career goals through the development of essential math, language, technical, communication, and academic skills.This position is governed by a collective bargaining agreement with representation by AFT-Seattle.
