What's exciting about the role We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Vice President, Global Tax to lead Verifone’s global tax strategy and operations. This executive role will oversee all aspects of tax planning, compliance, and risk management across multiple jurisdictions. The VP will partner closely with senior leadership to optimize our global tax structure, ensure compliance with evolving regulations, and support strategic initiatives including M&A and international expansion. This is a high-impact role requiring deep technical expertise, strong leadership, and the ability to navigate complex global tax environments. Skills and Experience we desire Global Tax Leadership Develop and execute Verifone’s global tax strategy aligned with business objectives. Oversee all direct and indirect tax matters, including income tax, VAT/GST, and transfer pricing across multiple jurisdictions. Ensure timely and accurate tax filings and compliance with local and international regulations. Tax Planning & Optimization Drive tax-efficient structures to support global operations and growth. Lead tax planning for mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions. Monitor legislative changes and assess their impact on Verifone’s tax position. Risk Management & Governance Establish robust internal controls and processes to mitigate tax risks. Partner with external advisors and auditors to manage audits and resolve complex tax issues. Ensure compliance with SOX and other regulatory frameworks. Cross-functional Collaboration Work closely with Finance, Legal, Treasury, and FP&A to align tax strategies with overall business goals. Serve as a trusted advisor to the CFO and executive leadership on tax implications of strategic decisions. Technology & Process Improvement Leverage technology and automation to streamline tax processes and improve reporting accuracy. Implement best practices for global tax operations and documentation. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA, JD, or equivalent required. 15+ years of progressive tax leadership experience, including at least 7 years in a senior global tax role within a public or large private company. Deep expertise in international tax, transfer pricing, and tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions. Strong knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS and global tax regulations. Proven success in tax planning for complex, multinational organizations. Experience in technology or fintech industries preferred. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Proficiency with tax technology platforms and ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP).
