This role involves assisting with meal preparation, serving food, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and ensuring that dietary needs are met according to individual resident care plans. The Dietary Aide plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for residents through proper nutrition and excellent service. Up to date FOOD HANDLER'S Permit required.Work Environment: This position operates in a clinical healthcare environment.Responsibilities:Meal Preparation: Assist with preparing and cooking meals according to menu plans and dietary guidelines. Follow standardized recipes and portion sizes. Food Service: Serve meals and beverages to residents in a timely and courteous manner. Ensure that meals are presented attractively and at the appropriate temperature. Dietary Compliance: Adhere to residents' dietary restrictions and preferences as outlined in their care plans. Maintain accurate records of special dietary requirements and report any deviations. • Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment by following food safety protocols. Perform regular cleaning of work areas, utensils, and equipment. Communication: Report any changes in residents’ conditions or concerns to the nursing staff or supervisor in a timely manner. Inventory Management: Assist with inventory control by checking and storing food supplies. Report any shortages or expired items to the Dietary Manager. Resident Interaction: Engage with residents in a friendly and respectful manner. Address any food related concerns or preferences they may have. Team Collaboration: Work closely with other dietary staff, nurses, and caregivers to ensure seamless meal service and address any resident needs. Compliance: Follow all facility policies, health regulations, and safety procedures. Complete mandatory training and attend meetings as required. Willing to train as needed Cook.Qualifications: Experience: Previous experience in a food service or healthcare setting is a plus but not required. On the-job training will be provided. Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs, standing and walking for extended periods, and capability to handle hot and cold food items. Skills: Basic understanding of food preparation and safety procedures. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently in a team environment. Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food quality.
