Maintenance Mechanic

GENERAL SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Supervisor of Plant Maintenance, the Maintenance Mechanic II is responsible for maintaining, servicing and repairing buildings, equipment and utilities. Type of supervision exercised: none. Jobs reporting to this position: none. EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent required. Trade or vocational school diploma required. WORK EXPERIENCE: Minimum of three (3) years experience in a typical HVAC and physical plant operations required. SPECIAL EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS: Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations required. Good written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills required for effective communicate with staff and management. Ability to make decisions and meet deadlines required. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and circuit diagrams required. Ability to perform electric wiring layout and installation required. Knowledge of NEC, BOCA, and other applicable federal, state, and local codes governing the installation and maintenance of electrical equipment, devices, and circuits required. Working knowledge of the common materials, hand and power tools, practices and procedures used in electrical work required. Valid PA driver's license required for travel to various Allied facilities. Must pass Allied’s Driver Training Program. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide individualized care appropriate to the age specific need and culture of the patient served.
