Job DescriptionThe Director of Public Relations is responsible for shaping and promoting the property’s public image, managing all communications that enhance its reputation, and building strong relationships with media, guests, community partners, and industry stakeholders. They develop and execute strategic PR campaigns, oversee press releases and media inquiries, coordinate interviews and events, and ensure consistent messaging across all platforms. Additionally, they monitor public sentiment, manage crisis communication when needed, and collaborate with marketing, sales, and operations teams to highlight the hotel’s unique offerings, achievements, and guest experiences—ultimately supporting brand visibility and driving positive awareness.Develop communication strategies and execute public relations programs within the hotel to local/regional/national/international markets as appropriateProactive media liaisonServe as a key contact in the hotel for the media, industry partners and the communityCreate opportunities with local organizations to raise the profile of the hotel(s) and the brand.Develop and foster community relationships and partnerships for the hotelDevelop and build positive relationships with media and industry partners in key marketsDevelop joint regional and national promotional opportunities with sister hotelsDevelop and maintain all media lists and contact information; maintain local community VIP listsMaintain an up-to-date photo and video library, including a photographic record of all media and special eventsConduct individual and media familiarization trips. Work with tourism and airline partners as appropriateLiaise with marketing partnershipsAssist rooms and food & beverage sales and marketing effort in creating promotional programs with media outlets (radio, digital, print, television)Write and disseminate press materials, media pitches, calendar listingsContinually feed Corporate PR and related agencies with hotel newsDevelop and manage monthly public relations and coverage support producing appropriate monthly reports to showcase PR clippings and impressions (sizzle reel)Act as spokesperson for the hotel and as a member of the crisis management teamSupport RPRD with issues management and crisis communication effortsLeverage participation in national corporate public relations initiatives to support brand awareness both locally and nationally.Work with DOSM to leverage advertising and marketing programs, create and manage annual PR budget, and promote Sales & Marketing revenue initiativesServe as secondary point of contact for social media when Marketing Manager is out of the office.Ensures a clean and safe working environment in accordance to health regulations and the hotel’s health and safety program.Adheres to all Brand Environmental policies and procedures.Other duties as required by managementQualificationsEducation & Experience: Bachelors’ degree in communications/PR or journalismMinimum 5 years of PR/Marketing experience preferably at a public relations firm.Prior experience in a related position in a luxury 5-star hotel preferredGeneral Requirements:Solid Boston media and community contactsExcellent written and verbal communication skills a mustProven ability to create partnerships within industry and communityFlexible, results-oriented, decision-maker, positive, multi-tasked, self-motivated, strong initiative.Well-informed of market trends in Boston and hospitality in generalAbility to work flexible hours and daysStrong computer literacy, especially with Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, ExcelExperience with Cision or similar media monitoring and database toolDemonstrated experience using user-generated content sites, blogs and social networksStrong analytical and quantitative skills; able to read and interpret marketing reports and make recommendations; as well as ability to understand and interpret financial dataExcels at online research, possesses excellent writing skills and the ability to produce out editorial at a moment’s notice.The ability to identify threats and opportunities within the user generated content space and make quick decisions. A subject matter expert on Social Media tools — knows them, has used them all, understands differences, benefits, etc – and has ability to educate internal audiencesMust effectively manage and adhere to strict daily/weekly/monthly deadlines.Extensive proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required and ability to manipulate data essentialAttention to detail required.Ability to operate in a team environment.Excellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated maturity.Ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities at once.Additional InformationSalary: from $105,000 to $115,000Employee benefit card offering discounted rates in Accor worldwide for you and your family.
