Continuous Improvement Manager Closes 10-Aug-2024 (EST) BCA Manchester, MI, USA 110000-120000 per year Salary Full Time Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university and minimum of ten years of related experience/training with five or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience Must have a high level of proficiency with the English language Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and CAD-AX Microsoft Dynamics Excellent planning, organizational, analytical, communication, networking, teamwork, and leadership skills Must be able to self-motivate, change direction, handle multiple responsibilities, and motivate others Competent with Lean Manufacturing Tools (5S, Kaizen, 5Y Eyes On Waste, Value Steam Mapping, PDCA, SMED, SWI, Kanban, Value Chain Management, Job Instruction Training, Process Simulation, PFEP, Pull, Six Sigma Statistical Problem Solving) Lean Certified Knowledge of Customer Specific Requirements Knowledge of ISO 9001/IATF 16949 Essential Functions: Analyze and assess current operational condition, define objectives, and oversee the implementation of lean manufacturing projects and tools Promote, organize, plan, deliver, and ensure adherence of Lean practices and concepts Build and facilitate multidisciplinary short and long term Lean activities and training Implement and follow up on all Lean improvements and most importantly, sustain the results Develop team members into Lean leaders Responsible for optimizing current manufacturing methods and processes Help develop team members in Lean principles and tools to eliminate waste and improve flow in all manufacturing functions Ensure ongoing education of all Lean leaders and associates Promote standardization implementation Provide support for continuous improvement activities Communicate Lean projects and metrics to operations management review team Any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the General Manager Abide by all Company polices including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee Handbook Language Skills: Ability to read, analyse, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Work Environment: 30% Office Environment, 70% Plant Floor (PPE Required) Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
