Overview A salaried, full-time faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. This role is primarily outpatient-based, with a strong focus on excellence in clinical care, medical education, and interdisciplinary collaboration.POSITION HIGHLIGHTSAcademic Appointment at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor rank.Primary practice in outpatient rehabilitation clinicsSupportive environment with structured mentorship in clinical care, education, research, quality improvement, and leadershipOpportunities to develop specialized outpatient programs (., musculoskeletal, spine, neurorehabilitation, EMG, procedures)Ample opportunities to teach and mentor physical medicine and rehabilitation residents, medical students, and other learners across our affiliated programs.Benefit from mentorship and a supportive environment fostering growth in clinical care, education, research, quality improvement, and administrative leadership Responsibilities Provide comprehensive outpatient evaluation and management for patients with conditions affecting the brain, spinal cord, nerves, bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, and tendonsDevelop and implement individualized rehabilitation and treatment plans focused on functional improvement and quality of lifePerform thorough outpatient assessments, monitor progress, and adjust care plans as clinically indicatedCollaborate with physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and other professionals to optimize multidisciplinary patient outcomesEducate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, prognoses, and self-management strategiesProvide weekend and holiday call coverage as assignedParticipate in teaching activities, including bedside/clinic teaching, didactics, and learner assessment for residents, fellows, and medical studentsEngage in academic activities, including scholarly work, quality improvement initiatives, and curriculum developmentProvide mentorship and counseling to trainees on academic performance, professionalism, and career developmentParticipate in departmental administration, policy and procedure development, and assigned committeesContribute to program development within outpatient PM&R servicesManage day-to-day clinical and academic responsibilities in accordance with EVMS and supporting institutional policies Qualifications QUALIFICATIONSCandidates must have a MD or DO and be board certified or board eligible who have completed an ACGME accredited residency. Applicants must hold a Virginia medical license and DEA certification. The faculty candidate must be committed to a career in academic medicine and must be interested in combining clinical practice with resident education and research.
