OverviewTRC is seeking a Part Time (or Full time) candidate for a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) with previous shop fabrication experience to perform in-plant quality assurance steel fabrication inspections for bridges and other transportation related steel structures.The prospective candidate(s) must be experienced in structural steel fabrication, applying AWS D1.5 (or AWS D1.1) inspection and testing code requirements including witnessing and reporting NDT performed.  ResponsibilitiesFamiliarity and experience with AASHTO/AWS D1.5 / AASHTO/AWS D1.1.Perform third party DOT structural steel fabrication quality assurance inspection and reportingUtilize applicable ASTM , AASHTO construction and project specific specificationsRead and interpret shop drawings, specifications and project special provisions to verify compliance to material qualityAbility to work closely with other fabrication, construction and quality personnel in a courteous and professional mannerPerform Visual (VT) Testing inspection per applicable code requirements.Familiarity with inspecting and reporting high strength (Grade 325) bolts testing (rotational capacity/preinstallation verification) and reporting.Familiarity with geometric in-process dimensional verification including lay-down and progressive assembly to ensure fitment during erection.Proficiency in using the following: Laptop computer, cell (smart) phone, scanner and printerExperience and proficiency with Microsoft Word, internet, report writing, adding photographs and other files within reports and as attachments.Ability to develop and maintain client relations. QualificationsAmerican Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)-will be verified through 3 years minimum project experience with structural steel fabricationStrong verbal and written communication skillsGood Driving Record (driver license will be verified)Pass pre-hire drug screening/testingNon-mandatory (preferred) experience and/or certifications: Previous bridge or similar fabrication inspection (QC or QA) experience.NDT Level I or Level II certification, UT, MT, PT or Radiographic Film InterpretationICC Structural Bolting certification or other experience inspecting high strength bolt testing and installation.AMPP coating certification or other experience inspecting application of coatings on structural steel.Benefits*: TRC offers a competitive benefit package consisting of:Medical, dental, vision, and disability insurance.401k package that includes both traditional and Roth IRA options and Company match.Paid time off contingent upon full time or part time status and level of seniority (ranging from 15 to 25 days per year).All full-time employees enjoy a minimum of 8 Paid Holidays per year.TRC ensures that all employees, including those that work part-time, receive paid sick, family, and disability leave in accordance with the laws of their state of residence.*These benefits are applicable to US employees depending on their employment status (full time, part time, or temporary). Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
