Job Summary Bethel University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science. Responsibilities ● Teach the equivalent of a full six-course load per year in the field of Computer Science, likely including some combination of the following: Operating Systems, Computer Architecture, High-Performance Computing, Artificial Intelligence, Data Mining and Machine Learning, Database Systems, Data Structures, and introductory-level programming for majors and non-majors ● Serve as a mentor and advisor for student researchers ● Develop an active research agenda, or engage in consulting work, and stay up to date with developments in the field ● Fulfill ordinary faculty responsibilities, including undergraduate student advising, university committee assignments, and involvement in departmental programming ● Contribute to an academic environment that seeks to advance inclusive excellence in the department and the discipline Skills ● Strong teaching skills ● Ability to collaborate with colleagues and work as part of a team ● Understanding of and commitment to Bethel’s efforts to develop as an inclusive university community Experience College teaching experience preferred Education PhD in Computer Science preferred; but candidates with PhD in Mathematics with substantial computing background, or with MS and significant industry experience, will also be considered Additional Information Compensation:  Salary and rank commensurate with qualifications and experience Position open: August 2024; Candidate must be legally permitted to work in US Questions?
