Manufacturing Equipment Reliability Technician

A day in the life You arrive on the floor and watch critical assets run, listening for subtle changes, tracing symptoms to root causes. When a machine falters, you move quickly—isolating the problem, tearing down components, inspecting parts for wear, making precise adjustments to mechanisms and control instruments, and reassembling with confidence. You validate fixes through functional tests—both electrical and mechanical—so production can get back up to speed. Perform mid- to expert-level break/fix and preventive maintenance, from observation-based diagnostics to full functional testing. Dismantle and recondition machinery, repair and replace defective components, and restore machine tools to service. Troubleshoot control systems to resolve hardware, software, and configuration issues. Leverage predictive maintenance tools to capture and interpret equipment performance data. Identify and source parts, supplies, and repair items to keep critical spares ready. Independently execute maintenance in line with industry best practices. Operate machine shop equipment (lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools) to fabricate/repair parts; perform welding as needed. Update and review CMMS records to document work and analyze equipment history. Champion 5S standards and housekeeping; contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on process, results, and cost savings. Support and mentor junior technicians; provide leadership to small teams while advancing your own skills. Engage in on-the-job learning and technical self-study for ongoing career development. Follow all safety policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions, and guidelines; maintain situational awareness to identify unsafe behaviors and conditions. What you bring High school diploma or GED. Associate degree with a technical focus and 3+ years of relevant industrial experience; or 5+ years of relevant industrial experience; or successful completion of the ATS Technician Progression Program. Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, fluid power, and control systems; proven ability to diagnose and repair. Proficiency with basic hand tools and applicable specialty tools. Mechanical troubleshooting, electrical troubleshooting, and general maintenance/repair capabilities. Industrial electrical experience, including comfort with 120/208/240/480-volt systems. Willingness to travel as required. Physical demands and working conditions Regularly stand, walk, use hands/fingers, reach with hands and arms, climb/ascend/descend or balance at heights (using a ladder or lift), stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in confined spaces, and communicate by talking/hearing. Occasionally sit. Occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds. Regular use of close and color vision. Occasional exposure to outside weather and risk of electrical shock. Primarily factory environment that is typically very loud, with potential exposure to hazardous materials and greasy or slippery floors.
