Today we are hiring a Production Equipment Support Supervisor (Day Shift) in Long Island City, NYWe are seeking a Supervisor of Production Equipment Support to join our dynamic team In this role, you will provide direction and mechanical support to all production mechanics as the need arises. You will monitor all work in progress ensuring that a constant production workflow is maintained, and equipment repairs are completed in a timely fashion. Do you have at least 5 years of experience in the operation and maintenance of production equipment and 3 years in a Supervisory role? If so, we would love to hear from youThe work hours are Monday - Friday 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM; availability to work as needed until 5:00 PM, as well as weekends and holidays, based on Production volume. This is an on-site role where you will work 100% of the time. Responsibilities: Maintains our parts inventory for all equipment by providing a complete list of parts to be ordered, including the vendor to be used and the associated cost for each partMonitor records of preventive maintenance performed on equipment and ensures that the maintenance occurs according to scheduled deadlinesKeeps informed of all new technology and equipment used by the technical support and production operations departments.Fills in and assumes all Management responsibilities in the Department Manager’s absenceAccountable to meet or exceed Cost Per Unit targets on his/her shift (i.e. labor costs, overtime, inventory control etc.) · Monitors and improves machine efficiency. · Coaches, counsels, motivates, develops, supports, encourages and instructs all Technicians under direct reportVerifies all administrative work is filled out accurately, monitoring and following departmental proceduresMaintains all records pertaining to department personnel under individuals reportSpan of control: approximately 15-20 direct reports, and all production equipment used by technical support and production operationsPosition requires daily communication/ updates with senior management on strategic work scheduling issuesMonitors daily reports on thruput and equipment downtime giving feedback to department personnelQualifications:Associate’s Degree or Technical/Trade School5+ years’ experience and a proven proficiency in the operation and repair of production equipment3 years’ minimum supervisory experience in a high-volume production environment, including: conducting performance reviews, leading by example, encouraging teamworkA proven proficiency in the operation and repair of insertion and bindery equipment, electronic and electric circuit experience is requiredElectrical and electronics repair is a plusKnowledge, understanding and experience of reporting tools Jet/IQExperienced in Microsoft Office The salary range for this position is: $75,000 - $80,000 annual.
